Hej,

I created a mesh in BK but when I like to run it with telemac2d I always get the error "wrong mesh". The output file is attached.
How can I check my mesh on errors. I also attached the mesh. Can I find a kind of manual how a mesh should look like?
I also get the error
You may have forgotten to compile PARTEL with the appropriate compiler directive
but I'm not sure about this, since as soon as I run a example in parallel it works fine.

Thanks so much in advance.

Hello,

If the examples work in parallel mode, I would agree with you that partel is compiled.

Does the mesh work in scalar? If not, it definitely is the mesh.

It does not work in scalar either.

Hi,

The error message is rather clear:
|ELEBD: POINT 87
|
| APPEARS ON 2
|
| DIFFERENT BOUNDARIES

The same point 87 is part of 2 different islands, as shown on the figure below. It's not allowed, and the mesh can't be split.

You also have a lot of boundary points with 2 neighbours, it can work but it's not recommended. You can refine your mesh on these areas (above Y=420 000, outline and islands).

The option "CHECKING THE MESH = YES" can also give you some hints.

Regards,
Laurent

Hej Laurent,

thanks for the fast help. I will take a detailed look at it.
How can I apply the option "CHECKING THE MESH = YES"? In telemac or in BK?

Is there anywhere a kind of manual how a mesh should look like? I'm quite new to Telemac and BK and without any manual or similar it is hard to know what is allowed and what not and also what should be avoided.

Best

"CHECKING THE MESH" option is for Telemac modules.
You have a lot of examples of real meshes with telemac distribution. The mesh must not be too crude with big isolated elements. Flat elements are also not suited.
