Dear all,

My name is Jose and I am a new BK-Telemac user. I am trying to build a small-coastal mesh by tringular mesh, however my outline is not resampling when I tick the option "resample outline". I have imported it as a shapefile and converted to I2s file to edit it. Nevertheless, the error persists and my mesh is not created.

Is there anyone who have experienced the same thing?

Hi Jose,

I tried your case and I got a similar error message. You can not resample the outline. I'm not sure about the cause, but my guess is that BK mesh generator can't handle lat/lon coordinates very well.
I use RD Paris coordinate system and that works fine. Try switching to another coordinate system to make your mesh and then convert the mesh back to Lat/Lon.

I'm not an expert on this.

Hi Jose,

I was able to re-sample the outline. I think BK is using the units of the projection, in your case lat/lon so degrees. The Default edge length is in degrees, I used 0.001 and it worked fine. You can use it upto 1, but the re-sampling steps become too large.

Just to confirm what you have discovered.
BlueKenue assumes an isometric coordinate space when generating a mesh. Mixing degrees and meters will not work.

It is best to convert your LatLong geometry to UTM or one of the other projections, generate your mesh which you then convert back to LatLong.
