How to set initial conditions with Bluekenue? 6 years 4 weeks ago #31815

I see that I can create a water depth variable in Blue Kenue. I did it and saved my selafin file, however, TELEMAC sends me an error message like if there were no water in the domain, so I'm wondering if I did it the right way.

I just created the BOTTOM and WATER DEPTH variables, then I saved the slf file. But I did not use any KEYWORD in the steering file. Do I need to do something else? Or how do I make sure that TELEMAC actually read the initial condition? If have no velocities, should I start like a continued computation, using this selafin?
Or just by indicating that this slf is my geometry, TELEMAC reads the initial condition?

Does it matter if I change the name of the variable, once it has been created? Or do I have to keep the same name, BOTTOM (for example)?

Thanks

Hi
If you describe initial condition in the geometry file you should use it also like a continued computation.
The variable name is crucial as the identification of parameters is done according to the name.
There is a message in the listing describing the variables found and if they are take in account or not...

So it means that even if the variable WATER DEPTH, for example, it's included in my slf, but I don't specify a continued computation, TELEMAC will read only the geometry?

About the names of the variables, I started with the Baxter tutorial and at some point, it asks the reader to change the name of BOTTOM_bc variable. So I'm wondering, if changing the name is allowed within Bluekenue, where to find some kind of guidelines when changing the names (that part of the tutorial made me think that the name was not important)?

Thanks
