I ran the model with the wind into blue kenue and did it not change the velocity at all...

Can you please send me a message (email) describing what you did and what did not work? Preferrably with an example workspace exhibiting the issue(s)...

Kindly,
Alan

Hello,

In Blue kenue I created a selafin file with the mesh of the studied area (water depth in m) then i added varibles called wind along X and wind along Y then i defined a new closed line with value of X = -3.151 and Y = -2.464 and mapped (map object) the mesh with this closed line (for X and Y separaately).

So I ran two models one with wind and one without wind in telemac.

Then i compare the velocities with a previous model in the same area but with no wind added and the result showed that the velocity is exactly the same between the two models...

SO because of this answer i ran a new model in telemac but i added the wind component directly in the steering file, i will look at the results soon (still running). However, i would like to use Blue kenue because i want the same wind in time but not in space and Blue kenue seems easier to me.

Regards

Jonathan

Hi
this is a solution to impose constant wind in time and space

I looked at the velocity results from the model i ran with telemac with the wind input in the steering file and the velocity values (strenght and direction) are exactly the same.

Does someone have an idea where the error comes from? Is that because the wind is not strong enough (4 m/s)?

Find attach the steering file i used for the other simulation. In both case results (velocity) are similar to the model running without wind...

I have trouble to attach the selafin file within ths message...

Hi Jonathan
You forgot to give
COEFFICIENT OF WIND INFLUENCE
and the default value is 0

Than kyou very much.

If i only want to use the selafin created with blue kenue with the wind value, do I still need to add in the steering file:

option for wind=1
coefficient of wind influence=1

or does telemac will take it into account anyway?

Hi
There is a specific formulation for the coefficient which could be found in the manual...
If you would like to use your selafin file, option should be 3

Thank you very much.

i hope its the last question:

If i take the option 1 for the coefficient of wind influence, is Blue kenue gonna overwrite the steering file or the opposite?

If i take the option 3, Do I still need to define the wind velocity among X and Y in the steering file or it will be the velocity in blue kenue which is gonna be take into account?

Other question not related to the wind, I want to also define differnet bottom coefficient frction in the mesh I created in BK, do i have to write something specific in the steering file too?

Thank you for your time and answer again

Hi
Lot of answers are available in the manual and/or in the dictionary.
If i take the option 1 for the coefficient of wind influence, is Blue kenue gonna overwrite the steering file or the opposite?
according to dico:
1: constant in time and space, given by keyword SPEED AND
DIRECTION OF WIND
If i take the option 3, Do I still need to define the wind velocity among X and Y in the steering file or it will be the velocity in blue kenue which is gonna be take into account?
no need to give value in the steering file. But coefficient should be define!
Other question not related to the wind, I want to also define differnet bottom coefficient frction in the mesh I created in BK, do i have to write something specific in the steering file too?

Nothing specific in the steering file. If friction coefficient exists in the geometry file, it will be take in account
