Hello Everybody,
I'm trying to create a video to show the change in directions of the flow rate during a rain event and I can not move any kind of object from view to the report view. It is suppose to be just drag and release the object but its not working and I don't know if this is some kind of installation problem or version problem.

Hope someone can help me

Hi A_camp,
I think the report view is not an option for video export. (I haven't tried report view before)
I have exported video from blue_kenue from before using screen recording and haven't tried any other option in bk.
In Q GIS newer version you can drag and drop slf file in the workspace and can export videos easily in combination with crayfish extension. You can also add a background map to improve visualization.
I recommend you to try that.

In theory, dragging an object from the workspace onto the Report View should result in the object being displayed in the Report View. Then, if the object can be animated, you can do so and the Report View will show the animation, similar to 1D, 2D, 3D and spherical views. You can drag more than one object to the Report View and all object can be animated simultaneously...

Also... a basemap can be dragged to a 2D view AND then your object can be dragged to the 2D View. This would put your object on top of the basemap. Then you could animate your object if you want...

If you need a video you can also export those from Blue Kenue too... it will depend on which supported drivers your computer has installed as to exactly which options will be made available to you in Blue Kenue...

If you have time, I'd appreciate learning more about what you are trying to do and what is not (currently?) working for you. For example, which version of Blue Kenue have you tried using?

Kindly,
Alan

Hello Alan,
I too tried to drag the data into report view to try that and it showed a error message that it cannot read the data after that I didnt try that. I have the very recent alpha version and i dont remember the version number. So I moved out to other options.
Thank you for your time.
I will come back to you with full details tomorrow.
Thank you again

With regards

Hi,

Items such as water depth or other variables cannot be dragged into the report view.
You have to select The VIEW itself (1D,2D,3D) which can be dragged into the report view.

I think I wasn't dragging the proper view before because now it works and I am able to create report view properly. Thank you so much.

Just so that it's clear to everyone.

The purpose of the ReportView is to provide a canvas that can contain multiple other views (1D,2D,3D,etc.)
The report view allows you to annotate the resulting "multi-view visualization" with lines, arrows, simple geometry, text etc.
A video can be recorded of a ReportView contain multiple animated views.

So you drag data objects to "normal" views as before and then drag the views onto the ReportView.

Once the views are in the ReportView,
- <double-click> once on a view to move/resize,
- <double-click> a second time to pan/zoom as you normally would.

Please refer to the manual for more details.

Hope this helps... Martin
