Hi All,

I've ben trying to interpolate bathymetric data on my grid without success ...
I am following the procedure given in BlueKenue_tutorial_rev2_FR.pdf ... (as always) but the results give an homogeneous value over the whole grid.

Could anyone please provide support ?

First of all, avoid multiple posts!
Second, read the rules to check how join files as your mesh file is not available

Otherwise, there was change in BK and maybe you have to manage attributes to allow this interpolation...
Maybe you could also create first the selafin file with a constant value, save and close BK and then reopen the selafin file and try to map again..

First of all I apologies for generating a multiple post.
Now I know where the Advanced search bar is : I Promis I won't do it again !!
I have tried to upload my mesh and bathy files using the Add File button in the attachment zone but it just wouldn't make it ... I Haven't found any specific info on www.opentelemac.org/index.php/kunena/help so I guess my connection isn't efficient enough.

Here is the workaround I used :

I first tried to generate a mesh using 3.3.4 Version of Blue Kenue and it failed.
I then used version 3.12.2 and it made the job !
When trying to interpolate bathy on grid it failed with the 3.12.2 version, but I made it with the 3.3.4 version !

Thank you for your comment that "there was change in BK" that opened the way to my solution !

Hi, I have the same problem with BK version 3.12.2.

The interpolation with new2d interpolator fails and gives no data value (Anonymous attribute) -999 in each node.

I don't find the solution to solve this problem.

Hi... sorry that there is an issue with BK 3.12.2-alpha. I released that version on 25 June 2021, which is now more than 1 year ago! Time for me to release a new version!!!

I'll post when I've released BK 3.12.3-alpha; hopefully before end of July 2022. As you might imagine, there have been a lot of changes in the last year, so I am hopeful that this issue is now fixed.

If you want, please send me a set of exact steps that you are doing along with the observed fault, and I'll follow those steps in my development version to check if it still fails.

Hi, thank you for your answer.

Here is my exact step :
- I open my bathy file in xyz format. The point cloud is correctly imported
- I create a new close line inside the region where elevation date is available
- I generate a new t3 mesh generator
- I Define the Outline (Value) by dragging the above-created closeline and run the mesh - the created mesh(Node Type) is correct
- I open a new 2d interpolator and drag the bathy file xyz onto the new 2d interpolator
- With the mesh highlighted i go to the tools map object and select the new interpolator
- The mesh become Mesh (Required new attribute)
- The mesh is completely monochrome (red), the elevation interpolation has not been successful. The value of the attribute is the no data value -999.

- I tried to do the same thing by creating the selafin first and defined the variable BOTTOM but it's the same issue with the new 2d interpolator

Please double click on the new data object in the workspace to bring up the Properties dialog box and then click on the Data tab. Can you take a screen snapshot of the Attributes and the Min/Max values?

Thanks. I tried loading one of my raw XYZ files that I had on hand and then made a number of internal changes to my development version of Blue Kenue.
