open TELEMAC-MASCARET The mathematically superior suite of solvers

Hi all

I have installed BK 3.12.2alpha in my PC and all the views are bugged, except for the report view. It shows random colors and patterns. I tried older versions as well but the problem persists in all of them.

I am using Ubuntu18.04 and a Radeon RX 550/550X graphic card, driver is amdgpu.

Anyone with similar issues?

Hi,

I develop on a windows machine and won't be able to help you out much, unfortunately. The next release of Blue Kenue (i.e. 3.12.3-alpha) will have a very simple "diagnostics" command. However, that doesn't help you now.

Do you have access to another computer? Perhaps one with an NVIDIA card? I use the Quadro K2200.

And/or ensure that your driver is up-to-date (if out-of-date) and try again? And/or try the most recent version of Ubuntu?

Hi Juliana,

This problem is definitely caused by a defective OpenGL implementation in the video driver. ATI/AMD (Radeon) drivers and Intel drivers were my nemesis.
We have always recommended NVidia based video cards.

Thank you guys for your feedback.

I can run BK in another computer with NVIDIA card, and it actually works fine. Tough, the amd one has much better configuration, so it would be nice to have it working there as well.

I will try to install BK in a windows virtual machine to see how it goes.
