The next alpha created after 27 May 2024, will be modifying the points on the mesh by at MOST 9.99e-13 in order to help overcome a long standing numerically related mesh generation stability fault in Blue Kenue.

Does anyone need higher resolution than 9.99e-13? And if yes, please explain why.

It is my current understanding (explained to me by Martin Serrer) that some co-ordinate systems may require as high as 1e-11... however, does anyone require higher than that?

Thanks... Alan

I may have mixed up "accuracy" with "precision". My question is one of precision... so I believe that 9.99e-13 precision is enough for meshing purposes. The new BK 3.12.16-alpha will be using this value.

Thanks... and happy kenue'in'

To clarify a little bit further... BK 3.12.16-alpha and BK 3.12.17-alpha will, during triangulation, add a small random epsilon to the X co-ordinate value ONLY. The Y co-ordinate will NOT be modified and will be kept as is.

In other words, a created triangulation will have an X value that is very slightly different (at most 9.99e-13) than the input BUT the Y value will be exactly the same.
