I tried to generate a video file using the properties of 2D View and selecting the recording tab, but after having defined the parameters.
I click on the record button but nothing happens.
I have the message Error : AVIMakeCompressedStream ERROR
I join this screen shot.
What is the problem ?

Which operating system are you using? (vista,7,8) 64 or 32 bit?
Does the operating system have all the latest Microsoft updates applied?
Which version of Blue Kenue? 32 or 64 bit?
Do you have write permission to the directory/avi file?
Is this same error presented if you make the window smaller?
(try 640x480)

Thanks Martin for your help and sorry for my late answer.
My encoding was not good...I used Cinepack but the good encoding for my simulation was MS Video 1.

I tried to generate an .avi video using the properties of 3D View (also 2D View). As soon as I defined the parameters and clicked on the record icon, I got the following error messages:

AVIMakeCompressedStream() ERROR:

CEnSimMovie:InitAttributes() ERROR:

ERROR on adding frame


I am using Windows 7, 64-bit Operating System, BlueKenue 64 and I have also tried with smaller window: 480 x 360, etc; and different encoding. The same error appears. Can you please advise?

Hi,

The problem is that there is no 64 bit Cinepak encoder available.
Try google "cinepak codec problem on 64 bit windows" for long list of details.

You will have to use "MS Video1" or "RLE8"

The next version of BK64 will have the Cinepak option disabled or if I have time, I'll rework the recording part of EnSimCore to use a modern video encoding library.

I have tried with all the other encoders (MS Video1, RLE8) but it still doesn’t work and gave me the same error messages.

Anyway, I will try to install the Cinepak Codec for Windows 7 (64 bit) and see if it works or not. Thank you for the tips.

Does "Uncompressed" work?

"Uncompressed" doesn't work either. And our IS Services refused to install third party recommended Cinepak Codec for Windows 7 (64 bit). So no video for me.

I tried with all the encoders, including MS Video1, previously and I have even tried to save the .avi file to my desktop and it didn’t work.

But, a few minutes ago, I decided to redo the same steps I have done previously, i.e. I tried with MS Video1 and saved it to my desktop and it works immediately. I have no idea why.
