Hello,
I try to create mesh for a simulation. (geo.slf and conlim.cli)
And I use test case N.017_confluence (without geo_confluence.slf and geo_confluence.cli) in TELEMAC-2D VALIDATION.
I get 2 files (geo.slf and conlim.cli) myself and some files (without geo_confluence.slf and geo_confluence.cli) of N.017.
When I run simulation. A error displays in DOS:
ITERATION 0 TIME: 0.0000 S
DEBIMP : PROBLEM ON BOUNDARY NUMBER 2
GIVE A VELOCITY PROFILE
IN THE BOUNDARY CONDITIONS FILE
OR CHECK THE WATER DEPTHS
Now you just have to follow what says the listing. You want a discharge on boundary 2 but there is no water on this boundary, so the program cannot compute the velocities to prescribe. This seems a problem of initial conditions.

No, I do not see any problem in your steering file. You should look at the topography in the geometry file, and check what is the bottom at the entrance of the canal. It should be less than the prescribed elevation.

NO!
Gourish is probably right
You don't check the result of the mesh you generated!
At least in the video.
Try to draw a 2D view of the geometry file wxith a close view of the confluence.
Another problem probably comes from the name of the variable because you don't give any unit so maybe telmac doesn't recognise the name because the comparison was made on name and unit

Christophe

Great news: The next TELEMAC User Conference will be organised by Bangor University on the 15th and 16th of October 2025, at the School of Ocean Sciences in Menai Bridge, on the Isle of Anglesey, Wale [ ... ]
