Hi, I am wondering that if it is possible to plot velocities along a specified line. I mean I'm going to find out the velocity variation along centre line in a river. Can I just draw a centre line then extract velocity data alone this line? The problem is that the velocity where I want may be located in somewhere middle of the element. Are there anyone know how to do it?

Best Regards
Yue

Check the manual under "extracting cross sections".
Basically you use Map Object to map scalar "speed" values from the Velocity UV object to an arbitrary line. Resample the line to whatever resolution you desire. The values are linearly interpolated from the triangle at the location of the points along the line.

The resulting line can be viewed in a 1D view where the horizontal axis is distance along the line.

Hope this helps... Martin
