Hi everybody,
is there a way to import measurement data and compare them graphically or mathematically with the computed results (steady state)? Or is the only way to extract time series of the computed results (for unsteady computations)?

Hi Sarah,

It's not clear to me what you are trying to do.
You can probe a result dataset by double clicking on a node
or by using the "Live Cursor".

What does your measured data look like?
Values at multiple xy locations? If so, load these as an xyz file.
Create a copy of your xyz file and using "Tools->Map Object" map steady state results to the xyz object.

thanks for your reply. I have measured data in certain locations ( described by x- And y-coordinates) With measured water-depth and velocity. These measurements we're done in a physical model after reaching a steady state. How i want to village the meadurements with the computed results. Is it possible to Do this graphical, showing the differences extensive it selective or can i only extract the computed scalar values?

The measured data is saved in a pdf file, so i have to copy it in a xyz-file.

Yes, and use "Map Objects" to map the values from your solution to an xyz file.

I don't get it. I import the measured data and map it to what? And how can i visualise the measurements. I am Kolping for something like the calibration target in SMS.

Sorry, there is no such tool in Blue Kenue.

what I actually wanted to know is if there is a way to compare computed results with measurements within BlueKenue or if I have to extract the time series and carry out the comparison with the measurements with other software such as spreadsheets or something like this.

Hi Sarah,

There is:
"Tools->TimeSeries->Compute Performance Statistics"

It computes a host of statistical parameters comparing two timeseries. (rms, r-squared,variance,bias, relative errors, etc.)

For the most part we use R for all our stats. There are a ton addons and the "batch" plotting capability is very powerful.
