Hi! I am a bit short of clues on how to extract the time series of a single velocity component out of the results file.

The slf file was built with the option

VARIABLES FOR GRAPHIC PRINTOUTS = 'U,V,Q,C,H,S,X'

whence I get a VECTOR_UV object visualised in the file structure. I do manage to extract the vector magnitude via Tool > Extract Time Series and so forth, but I need actually a single component with sign.

I can't seem to find a specific procedure in the Blue Kenue manual, but it may well be the case that I scrolled over it.

Tips and directions concerning the usage of Blue Kenue, Telemac or both much appreciated. Happy to be directed to relevant sources -- all the better with location of/in the document specified.

Thanks in advance.

Hi again

the forum exist to help users, not to replace the time needed to read the manuals carefully (and also the forum where some topics have been already answered)

Use the calculator to separate the components of the vector!
Or use Fudaa which gives you a direct access to the components values

Sir.

On your assumptions on how I spend my time I have already answered previously.

On why Fudaa doesn't seem to work either, I have already constructively, although not yet conclusively, interacted with other forum members.

I don't intend to post any question on how to use a calculator -- that's for sure -- although it is difficult to separate the components of a vector if I don't have an angle of sort (this is not a forum question).

Regards.

The components of the vector natively exists in the result file. It's just an automatic treatment of BlueKenue which gives you only a direct access to the velocity magnitude and the velocity vector.
In the BK calculator, there is the possibility to extract the X/Y components as it's indicate in the page 116 of the user manual!
