Hi everyone,

My question is simple, is it possible when merging two meshes to also merge the elevation datas of both initial meshes?

I've a first mesh 1, with a hole in it. I created a second mesh 2 using the boundary of the hole. Both of my meshes are mapped with elevation datas, and on their common boundary, the elevation is exactly the same for both meshes. How can i merge them and keep outside the hole the elevation of mesh 1, and inside the hole the elevation of mesh 2?

For the moment, when i merge the two meshes, the new mesh created only have node type as a data. No information about the elevation anymore

Thank all for reading and for your help.

Hi
For the elevation, you should map the elevation of the second mesh on the global one. There is not automatic merge of the elevation in BK.

Hello Raphael,

Last time I merged two meshes like in your case, the bathymetry data was kept intact in the resulting mesh. Maybe the name of the variable is different between the two meshes? Have you followed relevant section in the BK tutorial?

I just tried again

As a test I mapped my two meshes with the same 2Dinterpolator, giving the same name and the same unit to new attributes, but when i merge the two meshes, the data attribute still exist, but the values are ok only for the outside part of the merged mesh. In the inside part, all values are set to zero.

I just repeated merging my two meshes and confirmed that the merged mesh retains the bathymetry. If you post your files, maybe we can see what is wrong with your case.
