Hi Katja,
The REAL solution is for NRC to add double precision SELAFIN
file support to Blue Kenue. In the mean time, I'm not aware
of the existence of a converter.
There is no "right format". The traditional SELAFIN file format uses
single precision but you can run into coordinate rounding problems
especially in cases where you are positioning nodes with sub-meter
accuracy in projected coordinate systems like UTM, Polar Stereo, etc.
hence the introduction of the double precision format.
If you have the choice then as a simple fix, get Janet to produce a
single-precision file.
Cheers... Martin
BTW: There is no "official" extension for SELAFIN files. People
.sel, .slf, .tel and others interchangeably. There is no special
significance associated with any of these.
