Can you please give some details related to the "video export feature" issue.

When trying to export a video, bluekenue produces a avi:gstreamer error (atm cant remember the exact message), thought it was related to codecs but after trying all winetricks codecs that i could think couldnt make it work. I also tried a non-compressed avi, and it did output a video but was a steady white frame.

Things that i tried:

• Checked wine from 1.61 to 1.9, both x64 and x86 and few staggered builds.
• Checked windows xp and windows 7 in WINE
• Installed common windows codecs using Winetricks and Playonlinux.
• Played with wines options (gsl,renderer, memory..)

Things learnt:

• Bk doesnt work properly with WINE when set to 'windows7'.
• There are refreshing issues when loading any kind of info in Bk.There is a need of mouse interaction to refresh the maps. (Panning or zooming do the trick)
• Thare are minor icons bugs, mostly related to WINE when set with luna/Royale theme.
• Performance is almost as good compared to windows7 partion in the same machine!.

Thanks for the info.
I've passed your comments along to Alan Barton at the NRC.
Alan is much more familiar with LINUX than I ever was so
he may have some suggestions/comments.

We didn't spend much time validating Blue Kenue under WINE
so I'm impressed that it works as well as it does. The only
bit of advice that I have is that a lot of problems encountered
are due to bugs in the OpenGL implementation in the video driver.
The ATI drivers were notoriously bad. We always recommend using
NVidia.

There is a known issue with creating videos on 64 bit
Windows systems. The problem is that there is no 64 bit Cinepak
encoder available. Google "cinepak codec problem on 64 bit windows"
for long list of details.

Yes, I have done quite a bit under Linux, so I'll have to look at this in more detail. Any chance you would have the time/inclination to create a virtual machine image that could be shared with me so that I could try to replicate your exact environment?

hi, when i import my 2dmesh file generated from BASEmesh , it comes like this.

it loads fine but when i try to see the mesh it does not show anything.

it imports and show the content.

i have not try anything else , but i believe this is the reason. i will continue trying things to see what else make Blue Kenue not work properly.

Hi Chelo,

The trailing 0 field is a red herring.
It is ignored by Blue Kenue so that isn't the problem.

Please send me the full mesh file and I'll try to debug it.
