Hello,

I am trying to use Fudaa to extract portion of the results from a large computational results file. Essentially, I wish to retain all results from a specified sub-domain for selected output variables and time steps.

In Fudaa, I open the results file in POST, then go to Export menu, then Export Data. I then select the variables and time steps of interest, and apply the filter "Export meshes contained by a linear ring".

I can create manually a new bounding polygon in Fudaa, and export the results file. This works well. However, since my domain is quite fine in the area where I want results extracted, I am having real difficulties with creating the bounding polygon manually (by mouse clicking in Fudaa). Could I simply import a closed polygon in Fudaa, and use the imported file as the extraction boundary?

I see there is an option "Use a selected line", but in my case it is grayed out (see screenshot attached). How can I use this option? Can someone help?

Thanks,

Pat

Hi

You should first project your large result on the local mesh.

Method:
Just open your large result and in the menu post, manage multiple source. Here you could add the local mesh.
Then on the post menu, on the large result, select project on the local mesh.
After the projection, you should export the result as a selafin file where you select the variables and the times step (take care about the double precision mark)

Hope this helps
Christophe
