Hi! I was trying to upload the telemac2d.dico file that pertains to the only one telemac version that I have (v6p3r2). This results in the following error:

Analyzing
  Error: "'not programmed 2="Q(Z)"'" keyword not found	Information
  Error: Error while processing choices	Information
  INFO: COURBES DE TARAGE	Information

Any clues or workarounds?

Since this is the second bad-digestion notification in two operations, should I be wary of using Fudaa at all before catching a Livingstone syndrome (wanting to go to Africa and getting lost in it)?

Thanks for sharing your experiences and advice.

Hello

Why are you uploading the dico file ? and why with fudaa ?
You are looking for the Livingstone syndrome intentionally ! :cheer:
you can edit the dico file with any text editor. To run Telemac on windows, work within a dos shell otherwise, on Linux the olden time terminal will work perfectly.

with my best regards

Hi
I'll make another supposition as I didn't check this point.
In fudaa, some telemac version are automatically available when you open a steering file.
I suppose, as you try to upload a new dictionary, that the v6p3 is not available in your fudaa-version. Are you sure you've got the last one?
Another option, the dictionary available is v6p3 (r2 not mentionned). If this is the case, this version should work because the dictionary shouldn't change on the release.

Otherwise, the message you have just indicate a problem in the dictionary (not in fudaa).
I'm not totally sure but it seems to me that the dictionary syntax rules need to have '2="Q(Z) - not programmed"' instead.
Try to change in the dico file and try to upload again.

Regards

PS: Fudaa is a good tool to manage the steering files of computation with an access to all the keywords, the list of value...

@Christophe. Thanks for your thinking along.

I am using the version 1.2.0 of Fudaa, apparently the latest one available from prepro.fudaa.fr/index.en.php

This version also complains about the customization of the path to the binaries of modelling suite. I have pointed out this in this resumed and unattended post. I experience that problem whether I use the wrong writing v6p3r2 or the good one v6p3. NB I am working with a Linux system, although this should not make a difference, I expect.

About changing the dico file. Changing what into what? I guess fudaa complains about lines 4465-4481 of the dico. I cannot spot obvious syntactic errors myself:
/ NOUVEAUTES 5.9
/
NOM = 'COURBES DE TARAGE'
NOM1 = 'STAGE-DISCHARGE CURVES'
TYPE = ENTIER
INDEX = 68
MNEMO = 'STA_DIS_CURVES'
TAILLE = 2
CHOIX = '0="non"';'1="Z(Q)"';'non programme 2="Q(Z)"'
CHOIX1 = '0="no"';'1="Z(Q)"';'not programmed 2="Q(Z)"'
RUBRIQUE = 'CONDITIONS LIMITES'
RUBRIQUE1 = 'BOUNDARY CONDITIONS'
NIVEAU = 1
AIDE = 'Indique si une courbe de tarage doit etre utilisee
pour une frontiere 0:non 1:Z(Q) 2: Q(Z) (2 non programme)'
AIDE1 = 'Says if a discharge-elevation curve must be used
for a given boundary :NO 1:Z(Q) 2: Q(Z) (2 not programmed)'

No question that a properly working Fudaa has the potential to be a good tool. But I'm doubting this is properly a working tool. Certainly, in my experience, it's not newcomer-friendly

Hello, I guess you're managing to rescue my life then :-)

My basic need is to set up and start up a Telemac simulation in a rational and as less error-prone manner as possible. My evidence so far is that the latest version of Fudaa does not cope well with the latest, or perhaps one but latest, version of Telemac2d. Hence Fudaa, as stands now, is obsolete. Happy to be corrected at any point.

In the meantime I go on with by customizing the cas file. Let's see how it goes with the result visualizations...

Hello,

The latest version of FUDAA is found here:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/fudaa/files/prepro/

and not at the site you mentioned, which is not updated anymore :( .

If you download the latest version (which at the moment is 1.3.0RC8), you will have automatic access to dico files up to v7p0.

Costas

Thanks.

Could you then please update the link in this website page? The current situation leads to the outdated version causing confusion, delay and unnecessary difficulties.

I have also been confused in the past until I found the true source. I hope a moderator views this thread and update the links to the sourceforge page. Otherwise you can open a thread in the Feedback and Suggestions section.

Hello again.

What are the script instructions to start the latest version?

Adapting the old line
java -Xmx512m -Xms64m -cp "$PWD/fudaa-prepro-1.2.0.jar" org.fudaa.fudaa.tr.TrSupervisor $1 $2 $3 $4 $5 $6 $7 $8 $9
into
java -Xmx512m -Xms64m -cp "$PWD/fudaa-prepro-1.3.0RC8.jar" org.fudaa.fudaa.tr.TrSupervisor $1 $2 $3 $4 $5 $6 $7 $8 $9
throws the error
Could not find the main class: org.fudaa.fudaa.tr.TrSupervisor. Program will exit.
Removing that main class name from the line and entering it results into the short list of command options. But, to my understanding, no obvious clue to get it started.
