Hi,

I have a data file in XYZ format with lat, longitude and depth as three variables in .txt extension.when I import the data in xyz format the contours are coming as points without any line connecting the points. So how can I use this file to make grids using Matisse.

Thanks

Hi
The bathymetric data in Matisse could be imported in two different categories (bathymetry or Geometrical lines).
Did you try to import your data in Geom.Lines mode?

Hello,

I enclose an example of file at the Sinusx format that should give linked points. I hope it helps.

Hi
No software sorry!
You could try to manually modify the bloc header in your file to transform your XYZ into SinusX

Hi,

A simple way to convert your data in XYZ format into SinusX format is to copy the headline of the example proposed by my colleagues (the 10 first lines) and then copy your data in XYZ format. Finally, you have to fill in the 4th column, with an A for example. It should then work.

Hi pham,

I did, what you said by coping the first 10 lines of the 'entete_sinusx_contour.txt' file as first ten lines of my data file. but when I tried to import, this data points are connected by lines. But there is an extra line connecting two different contours.I want to delete this extra line connecting two different contours. I am interested to know that on what basis the first ten lines are made. And I am interested to know about the forth column filled with 'A'.

Thanks with regards.

Hi

You could find a description a the SinusX file format in the Matisse documentation.
You will find all the information about the description lines in the beginning but also in the file (it allows you to have separate lines in the same files).
The 4th column is a marker (from the sinusX program) but it's no more use by matisse.

Hi,

Now I am able to draw contours as different lines by inserting BN between contours.I have data points on every 6 meters.when I am tryng to draw this in Matisse ,it shows branches in some location. I think it is because of the number of decimal after the point. So what should be the minimum distance between two consecutive points can use in matisse. How can I change the number of decimals in matisse axis.

Thanks.
