From 14 to 16 October 2026, CERFACS hosted the 32nd openTELEMAC User Conference in Toulouse, the annual meeting of the international community of users and developers of the open-source openTELEMAC software suite. The event brought together researchers, engineers, developers and users from both academia and industry to discuss the latest advances in hydrodynamic modelling. The first day was dedicated to a workshop attended by 60 participants, with two hands-on sessions entitled “Using user Fortran files in TELEMAC-2D and TELEMAC-3D: implementing custom developments and practical examples” and “Tutorial on QTelemac”. On 15 and 16 October, the conference gathered 83 participants, with 40 conference papers and scientific presentations covering a wide range of applications and developments within the openTelemac software suite, organised into seven thematic sessions. Over the two days, the presentations highlighted the diversity of current developments and applications within openTELEMAC: modelling across different spatial scales; river, coastal and estuarine applications; water quality; hydraulic structures; sediment transport; new numerical methods; data assimilation; mesh generation; model coupling; and the growing use of artificial intelligence and surrogate models.

TUC 2026 does not end with these three days in Toulouse. An additional fully online workshop session will take place on 10 November 2026. Led by Thomas Saillour (JRC-Ispra), the session will focus on “xarray for Selafin”. A connection link will be sent to TUC 2026 participants.
