Hello [name removed],

We used to slightly modify and recompile Telemac to be able to run it with a lot of sources (v8p1r2).

Until now, everything work on different machines.

We bought a new machine that run through a VM under W10.

Telemac is successfully installed and work (we tried exemples and our own model).

Now I modify MAXKEYWORD in declaration\_special.F and complile --clean (as ususal). We need a lot of source (\>1000) and we usualy put MAXKEYWORD = 3000.

I found that I can increase MAXKEYWORD until 655. More than that, the model fail at the begining. Same error in scalar or parallel.

Please fine attached the log, with is not clear about the error. Does anybody have an idea to solve that ?

Is there any mean to have a more detailed log ?

Thanks for your help !

Erwan

You could compile with debug option and run with gdb if no clear information is added when you run the computation

Hello [name removed],

Thanks again for your answer [name removed].

We still didn’t take the time to run a debug. We’ll do it soon 😜, and give you some feedback.

Can you explain me what [name removed] is exactly? I can imagine :

- number of KeyWords in the CAS file (PROCESSEURS PARALLELES is one, [name removed] is antoher one, etc…) ?

- each time there is a “;” in the CAS file (OPTION DE SUPG =0;0;0;0 means 4 or 5 KeyWord ? If I have 10 injections, I have NUMEROS GLOBAUX DES NOEUDS DES SOURCES = 399402;546684;525017;445716;451250;425959;424725;375692;351305;472985 so 10 KeyWord ?)

- Does the number of BUSE count in MAXKEYWORD ?

- Does the number of condition count ?

I would like to figure out were I can go with a MAXKEYWORD = 655 …

Thanks for your answer.

Erwan

Hello,erwanC.

I met the similar problem with you.I failed when the maxkeyword is great than 500.

For 450,every things work well.

Do you solve this problem? what makes the error occur?

Thanks advanced.

Hi

Changing MAXKEYWORD value impose to have a full clean compilation…

Yes, I also edit the cfg file.

I change the follow options.

module: clean system

am I right?

yes

Also possible without changing cfg file by just specifying --clean in the compilation command

So the problem is not the clean compilation.

I used clean copmpilation by changing the cfg file. And telemac went wrong when the maxkeyword is greater than 500.

so probably a memory problem…

Could be interesting to compile and run in debug mode to understand where the problem is exactly.

compile with debug options

run the executable you should have more info

To go further, you could also run the local exe with gdb

Thanks for your advice.

I have two questions.

1 Does ‘compile with debug options’ mean that I should edit cfg file and add debug in options?

2 Does ‘run the local exe with gdb’ means the exe in the temporary folder generated by running a program?

</div>

For compiling part, it’s probably better to use a dedicated config then you will be able to choose which config you use rather than change the config file and recompile each time you want to switch…

For run, yes you well understand what I mean.

Hello,c.coulet.

It seems you are right. It may be a probably a memory problem.

I used gdb and the attachement is the error.

Thanks for your help.

Hello, [name removed] and M. Coulet.

Sorry for the late answer.

Just for adding our experience :

I didn’t try debug mod, but the problem suddenly diseapear after some (unfortunatly) unknown manipulations of our IT managers… Maybe some update solve the problem ?

So, thanks for your analysis !

Thanks for your sharing.

I think maybe some pointers point to inappropriate places.

I remembered that I had successfully changed this parameter on this computer before with v8p0, I can change the value to 500.

Now,for v8p2,it can’t reach 500.

Maybe I should try a newer version.

Hello,c.coulet

Maybe I get some message.I used a new version gcc with posix thread(win32 before).I get error message while compiling api\_run\_sis.f in motcar value.

Actual argument contains too few elements for dummy argument.

The motcar value is define as 300(same as maxkeyword). So I also change this value to make it equal to the maxkeyword i want.

This time I successfully compile it but telemac2d still can’t run normaly
