# Recommendations on extent of model domain for proper wave generation

Hi [name removed],

I was wondering if there are any recommendations/notes on how large the TOMAWAC model domain should be be for proper wind-driven waves generation?

in other words, how far should I extend my ocean boundary (outer domain) to achieve suitable fetch for wave generation?

and would the answer be different for different wave generation models within the TOMAWAC module?
