So I tried solvers 1, 2, and 3.
Reduced the MAXIMUM NUMBER OF ITERATIONS FOR SOLVER =100
Solver 3 worked out some time steps and then froze for a solid 5.5 hours (see attached picture).

I tried adding a velocity component to the .liq file, but it did the same thing (i.e. the solver just froze).

I made some changes to your steering file. I reduced the time step and specified the GRAPHIC PRINTOUT PERIOD.
I ran the model with the changes implemented and it worked.
Find attached the steering file modified.
