Yes, Michiel is right. The initial concentration values must be provide in volume concentration [-]. Output results are also in volume, unless explicitly specified with the keyword MASS CONCENTRATION = YES.

I am now trying to find out how to specify the thickness of the first layer. It seems that as a default it assumes a 0.1 m thickness as my first layer has a low critical shear stress for erosion and my second layer a very high one, but I can't find any key word to set it in the manual.
Is it possible to set the layer thickness.

Take a look to the example bosse_vase. You will need to modify a fortran file -> subroutine INIT_COMPO_COH.
The case "conservation_vase" would be also useful.
