open TELEMAC-MASCARET The mathematically superior suite of solvers

Hi,

Recently I helped some master students with the installation of TELEMAc on Windows system and I found a new way to do it.

The basic idea is to utilize a tool called DOCKER. For the details and software download, please refer to www.docker.com/.

I also found a short explanation from website. It is for OpenFOAM but the idea is the same.www.cfdengine.com/blog/how-to-install-op...nywhere-with-docker/

To be short, docker is easy to use, provide consistent environment for using Telemac and has native performance as the host system.

I made a docker image that can be download from hub.docker.com.
Once you install the docker on Windows, simply open the docker environment and type:

docker pull biqilong/ubuntu-telemac

The Telemac will be downloaded and few minutes later it will be ready to use. It provides you with both scale version and parallel version.

Had the same thought before but with canonical's snap packages or flatpak if there was some license issue.

Hello Guys,

I have updated the TELEMAC docker image to the version v7p2r0. The details can be found at

hub.docker.com/r/biqilong/ubuntu-telemac-v7p2/

This image will contain the latest code from v7p2 in future and I plan to update it regularly.

To download this image, simply type command

docker pull biqilong/ubuntu-telemac-v7p2

after installing Docker. Hope it helps.

A minor comment on your installation instructions... At step 5., you don't need to edit the ~/.bashrc file to include the two export commands. You can directly issue them on the terminal.

Thanks for the comments. Indeed, in a docker image it will remember the exported paths after commit the changes afterwards.

Currently, I manage to build a image for the version v7p0r1 . For instance, The build for the version v7p3r1 failed:

I suppose I have to change the systel config file...
