Hey, I'm trying to create a T3 mesh in BlueKenue.

The whole area is a like with several islands.

When creating the mesh, I want to use the islands as boundaries and not create mesh on islands.

My processing steps are :File/New/T3 Mesh Generator

And I draged the outlines for the lake in the corresponding "new T3 mesh" section.

The default windows screenshot and the final Mesh screenshot are shown in attachments.

Could you please tell me how to create mesh only in water , not including islands?

Best Regards! And late Happy New Year!

Hi,

Have you read the manual?
It explains a lot.

Anyway, to create islands in your mesh you have to ensure
that the "soft" or "hard" lines representing your islands
are "closed".

Hope this helps...

Hi I have read the totourial and I'm a bit confused if I followed the correct logic.

Since all islands are closed lines and the format is .shp.

Should I drag all islands .shp file to the "Hard lines" section and run the mesh again?

Since you are new and don't seem to be reading the manual...

When you import a shape file you can get more than one object in the WorkSpace... such as:
  1. ArcView Shape File
  2. 2D Line Set - a child object created depending on the contents of the shape file

So... you wouldn't drag the shape file... you would drag, for example, a child object, such as a 2D Line Set to the HardLines child of the Mesh Generator object.

Then, after dragging what you want to drag... run the mesh generator again.

Hope this helps.

Kindly... Alan
