Hello,

my question is, if there is a way to just get the waterbody as an output decoupled with the land area?

I am interested in the maximum flood extend and if I have just the waterbody output I can clipp the "normal" waterbody and have just the flodded areas as a raster and as my result - and thats what I need as my final output.

Is there a way to do so?

Hi,

There is no variable for max flood extent.
You can output "MAXZ" and bottom ("B") then compute H with latest time step and clip H > 1cm
Or output "H", compute max (using postel, PostTelemac, Fudaa, ...) and clip H > 1cm.

You will have to do some post traitement in any case.

I am not sure if I totaly got it right..
So I extract max from MAXZ, so compute max with postTelemac and then do the same just change the numbers to 1 cm and then clip it against each other?

I think I am not totally get it what my options are...

In your CAS file, you should define at least these variables if you are only interested in flood extent :

• H : Water height (m ; S - B )
• S : Water elevation
• B : Bottom
• MAXZ : Maximum elevation reached during simulation

From this variable you can do pretty much whatever you want.
Easy way :
- Compute Max with PostTelemac (Extract Max), load max using PostTelemac
- Tweak symbology to display H from 0.01m to 9999m
- Use ToShape tool in PostTelemac to extract flood extent as polygon (RasterCreation does not work very well but you can try)
- If you really need a raster, Create Point and interpolate these points with QGIS Interpolation TIN
