make a wind file with only one or two time step it will be sufficient to understand the problem.

there was a trap :
you put too many space between
WIND ALONG X and M/S

the default name (you can find it in the dictionnary) is
'WIND ALONG X M/S ';
and your name is
'WIND ALONG X M/S '

so you can either change the name when you generate your wind file or add
NAMES OF VARIABLES : 'VELOCITY U M/S ';
'VELOCITY V M/S ';
'WIND ALONG X M/S ';
'WIND ALONG Y M/S ';
'WATER DEPTH M '

in your steering file, i just tested that and it worked.

There is another trap : the number of space is not taken into account on the site, i am going to make a picture so that you can see.

Thank you for your patience in answering my question.The picture is really clear.And the last quetion ,how can I see the space in the NAMES OF VARIABLES. I open the wind file in blueKenue,but the names of VARIABLES just look same.
