Hello,
I try to use remote desktop connection to run Telemac models in another computer which has more cores than mine.
However, when I run some examples in telemac2d, the model only works in scalar mode, not in parallel mode. It gives the folowing error:

runCode: Fail to run

I don't know what the problem is, knowing that in my computer (using the same config file) it works in both scalar and parallel modes.

Any idea how to solve the problem please?

Hi Lan Anh,

First of all, technically you don't need Remote Desktop Connection to assign a computation to a remote computer. MPI can take care of that. However, RD it is much simpler to setup.
The error message you posted does not provide much insight on the cause. Can you provide a complete output using console redirection to a txt file?

If we want to troubleshoot installation and parallel execution it would be better to start from a case from the examples folder. Can you try that first? If that works OK, then we can troubleshoot your particular case.

I already tried some examples but it did not work neither.
Here is the example of malpasset, which gives the same error.

Have you tried to run the example locally, by physically logging in to the remote PC? I assume that you have already completed MPI credential registration at the remote pc.

Yes I aldready registered the MPI credential at this PC.

I will try to ask my collueague to help me to do the test physically, because the remote pc is located at a different office (in a different city).

I just remembered that I have actually run a computation at a remote Windows PC using RDC. There shouldn't be a problem with that, as long as you do the installation properly.
Have you compiled TELEMAC at the remote PC using the appropriate CPU architecture?
