Hello

I am simulating the agitation of a port in ARTEMIS and I would like to use the results of TOMAWAC. Does anyone know how can I link the two models?

Thanks for your time and attention.

Hi
There is no automatic link exsiting between the two modules.
You should manually extract the results of the Tomawac computation at the boundary of your artemis model.
Then you could impose the boundary condition of your artemis model

Hello,

this is one of our objectives to implement an automatic coupling between Artemis and Tomawac. Some work should be done in 2013, but at the moment you have to do it by yourself.
There are different ways to do it :
- you can simply impose the significant wave heights and periods obtained with Tomawac at the boundary of your Artemis model. Please be cautious with the choice of the incident wave boundary of your Artemis model, otherwise you could have some problems with the phase calculation : you should try to have a bathymetry as constant as possible on your incident wave boundary, and even if it is not the case, it is not recommended to put a variation in wave direction on this boundary (see p57-58 of the Artemis V6.2 documentation).
- if you want to keep all the information about the wave spectrum, you can impose an energy level corresponding to each frequency of your spectrum. This is what we plan to do for a future version of the code, but it requires more developments.

Best regards,

Elodie

Hello

I found a subroutine borh that works in 6.1, this subroutine takes the HM and the direction of tomawac results and then it uses theses values as boundary conditions. But I have change to 6.2 and it seems that some declarations of artemis have changed or they were not included.

Is it possible to use the old declarations in the new version?

Hello,

no you cannot use the tables LIHBORT, HBT, TETAPT, ALPHAPT, ... in the subroutine BORH anymore. You have to replace it by LIHBOR%I, HB%R, TETAP%R, ALPHAP%R...

You will find many examples in the validation cases of the version 6.2.

Elodie
