TOPIC: Advise to use BlueKenue 3.3.4 or 3.9.5

Advise to use BlueKenue 3.3.4 or 3.9.5 5 months 5 days ago #44980

We have a short question:

I am using BlueKenue 3.3.4 and 3.9.5 and I feel that 3.3.4 is better, although 3.9.5 is a recent version. I don't know which one is better to use on our recent project.

Thanking you for your opinion.

Hi Ateeq,

The latest is 3.12.17, and for the most part, is the recommended version.

Hope this helps... Martin

While saving as type [XYZ Point Set.xyz], we didn't get data points in the new version 3.12.17. This might be a bug in the latest version of BlueKenue. Maybe other users are also facing this problem?

I am very close to creating 3.12.18 - alpha.

What are the steps to reproduce the observed fault? If I can easily reproduce it on my side then I should be able to fix it...

Kindly... Alan

If you were trying to save a 2D mesh as an XYZ point set, then YES... you've found a bug.

Please let me know if you were trying to do something else...

You're very welcome!

I've now fixed the "Save Copy As..." XYZ Point Set fault and should now be working in my development version (soon to be created 3.12.18 - alpha which can be downloaded by reading through the instructions in this post).

NOTE:
  • X and Y will always be X and Y from the 2D Mesh
  • Z will always be the currently selected attribute from the 2D Mesh

SO... if your mesh has 3 attributes and you change the currently selected attribute from Z to X THEN the new X,Y,Z point set file will be X,Y,X.

Similarly, if your 2D mesh has 6 attributes, then the new X,Y,Z point set file will be X,Y and the current attribute.

Kindly... Alan
