Assistance Required: TELEMAC-MASCARET Installation and Execution Issue

Dear TELEMAC Support Team,

I hope this email finds you well. I am reaching out to seek your assistance regarding some issues I have encountered while installing and running TELEMAC-MASCARET on the Compute Canada Graham HPC cluster. Despite following the installation and compilation steps provided in the TELEMAC documentation, I am facing errors related to shared library loading during the execution of simulations.

Details of the Issue:

1- Installation and Setup:

-I have set up the environment by loading the appropriate Python and MPI

modules:

 module load python/3.11.5

 module load openmpi

-Created and activated a virtual environment for managing dependencies:

 python -m venv myenv

 source myenv/bin/activate

-Installed necessary Python packages (numpy, scipy, matplotlib) using pip:

 pip install numpy scipy matplotlib

-Set environment variables and sourced the setup script:

 export METISHOME=~/opt/metis-5.1.0

 export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$METISHOME/lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH

 source /home/mjafarz/my_opentelemac/configs/pysource.gfortranHPC.sh

2- Compilation:

-Recompiled TELEMAC-MASCARET to ensure all libraries were correctly linked:

 compile_telemac.py

3- Execution:

-Attempted to run the TELEMAC-MASCARET simulation using an example case

(t2d_wind.cas):

 cd /home/mjafarz/my_opentelemac/examples/telemac2d/wind

 telemac2d.py t2d_wind.cas --ncsize=4

-Encountered the following error during execution:

/home/mjafarz/my_opentelemac/examples/telemac2d/wind/t2d_wind.cas_2024-07-14-15h30min28s/out_user_fortran: error while loading shared libraries: libmetis.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Despite verifying that libmetis.so exists in the specified directory (~/opt/metis-5.1.0/lib), the error persists. I have also confirmed that the LD_LIBRARY_PATH includes the path to libmetis.so.

Request for Assistance:

I kindly request your assistance in resolving this issue. Any guidance on additional steps or troubleshooting methods to ensure proper linking and execution of the TELEMAC-MASCARET simulations would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your support and I look forward to your response.
