Compiling v9.1.0 on Debian 13 (Trixie) - Could not link library error

Hello Telemac Community,

I am finally getting back into telemac again, after a taking a long break. I am trying to compile the latest version of the code, and am running into a bit of difficulty. It looks like the configuration files have changed since last time I used them (v8.4). I see that v9.1 no longer has the */config directory.

The system wide dependencies I installed are these:

apt install make cmake ninja-build git gfortran openmpi-[name removed] build-essential

Then I created a simple set_env.sh file, with the following contents:

export HOMETEL="/home/user/telemac_v9.1.0"

export BUILD_TYPE=Release

export [name removed]/builds/telemac_v9.1.0"

export PATH="$HOMETEL/scripts/python3:${PATH}"

Then, I sourced the set_env.sh file, and compiled as follows (I excluded everything other than mpi and [group removed]):

build_telemac.py -j 4 --deps mpi metis

The build went to completion, and I get “My work is done” printed nicely in green. But, when I try a run t2d_gouttedo.cas test case, I get the following error message. Does anyone know what could be a cause?

... checking the executable

you need to update the MPI_ROOT variable in your evn file,

export MPI_ROOT=/somedir/
