Initial Condition: user_condin_h.f and free surface

Hi [name removed],

i’m trying to model a dam break with flooding of the surrounding areas. To initiate the model I want to have water in the river but not in surrounding areas that are below the riverbed.

As far as i understand, I could use the initial condition “special” and use the “user_condin_h.f” but i don’t know how.

Can anyone provide an example or tell me, if there is an example on telemac-2d that comes with the user_condin_h.f ?

My idea would be to provide an intial free surface with the water levels that i want and define in the user_condin_h.f that water depth = free surface - bottom.

Can anyone tell me if that works or give some advice how to setup the model?

Thanks so much!

Hello [name removed],

The TELEMAC-2D examples are located in $HOMETEL/examples/telemac2d folder.

Examples of user_condin_h.f can be found in subfolders user_fortran (or a name with this prefix) of a few examples.

You can have a look at breach, malpasset, digue, balzano or wesel e.g.

Hope this helps,
