open TELEMAC-MASCARET The mathematically superior suite of solvers

hi,
i am a final year bsc student.My thesis topic is to make a 2d model of morphological change of a local river....I know to work with Hec-ras trying to learn delft-3d and telemac-2d.as a beginner i am facing great problems in learning all these.so anyone help me by giving me following information.

1.how i can learn telemac from zero to a standard level.
2.is it possible to accomplish morpholigical modeling of any river using telemac-2d,
3.which software should i use for my thesis project as described earlier?why?

Hello,

Yes you can do morphological modelling with Telemac-2D coupled with Sisyphe. Many other students currently do PhDs with Telemac.

As for the training, it is always better if you can learn with someone who already knows the software, or if you can afford a training session (that may also include installation). A key point is the help you can get from your professor, depending on the software he personnally knows. The people who answer on this forum generally have a job and a management, and obviously cannot spend all their time trying to help beginners, so this is a growing and critical problem as new users still appear every day.
