As far as I am aware, the last release of a TELEMAC-3D user manual was for version 5.8 - i.e. four releases removed from the current version (6.2) of the code. The version 5.8 manual contains only limited information on some aspects of the code, particularly sediment transport, as well as some inconsistencies in key words and the use of notation/terminology, etc. Without an up-to-date user manual, it is quite difficult to introduce new users to the code and to keep track of changes (without having to continuously refer to a host of release notes). Furthermore, it does not help to reduce the time and effort required to convert older models (fortran files, steering file keywords, etc.) to newer versions, if desired. From a quality assurance standpoint, it is also a bit weak referencing a user manual for modelling software that has since been superseded many times.

Are there any plans to release a current, more comprehensive user manual for TELEMAC-3D (and also dealing with sediment transport aspects)?

The new user manual of version 6.2 is ready and should be put very soon on the web site. However the sedimentaspects are not yet done, as we would like to revise them for the next version. For the new possibilities, you can also use the feature logs available on the bottom of the home page.
