Hello all,

Is there any academic reference about TELEMAC and domain decomposition ?

Regards

Yes sure ! Is there an article published in a scientific journal about TELEMAC and domain decomposition that I could cite in the parallel section of the article that I am currently writing ?

At least there is a dedicated chapter in the Jean-Michel book.

Yes, this is true, I didn't think about JMH's book ! I guess this is sufficient as reference.

Regards.

Hello,

The original work dates back to 1997 and was done by Reinhardt Hinkelmann as a PhD thesis, it is reference [101] in my book.

The Lagrangian part was done later, firstly by Jacek Jankowski at BAW in Germany, and completed till about 2012 at EDF lab LNHE in France, but this was never published. As a matter of fact, there is no theoretical issue, it is "just" computer engineering. In the Lagrangian part (computing pathlines) we now ensure that there is not even a digit of difference between sequential and parallel runs. There is now a PhD on the way that aims at the same result for all parts of the code.

With best regards,

Jean-Michel Hervouet

OK, thank you JMH, your book from 2007 gathers all the informations that I wanted to talk to in this article. As this is an article where I use the parallel functionality of TELEMAC but this is not the core of the article I don't need to give much details about parallelism.

Regards.

Hello,

The PhD Thesis of Prof. Hinkelmann is somehow still available in Internet, see http://www.hydrosys.uni-stuttgart.de/institut/hydrosys/publikationen/paper/hinkelmann/Promo.ps.gz.

Actually, the full parallelisation of the Eulerian-Lagrangian method (ELM) for the advection treatment has also been published, but in the framework of another code, UnTRIM, see http://dx.doi.org/10.1002/fld.1859.

There still survive presentations concerning this implementation for the code UnTRIM and Telemac as well:

(1) http://papers.jankowski.org/parallel-streamline-tracking-for-untrim

(2) http://papers.jankowski.org/parallel-streamline-tracking-for-telemac

Best regards,
jaj
