open TELEMAC-MASCARET The mathematically superior suite of solvers

Hi all,

I'm a student with very low budget. Ideally, I'd like to simulate T2D on mesh of around 50000 - 100000 nodes in decent computational time (one month to simulate multiple times for calibration and validation purposes). I would like to know your opinions on the recent chip with 8 cores of AMD since it's the cheapest i saw for the given power (around 220 bucks). + 8 cores seems attractive to me for // use and I'm not that much confident with hyperthreading technology from intel processors in //. How well do you think its gonna do with T2D???

If possible, a benchmark on Malpasset case would be great if anybody has this kind of processor. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Hello,

While we do not seem to have benchmark on AMD, TELEMAC performs well on many hardware, including AMD.

Have you tried it yet ? Do you have any feedback ?
