open TELEMAC-MASCARET The mathematically superior suite of solvers

Hello everybody,

I have to liquid boundary files, one for surface elevation and another for tracer. And the elevation of boundary is variable in time and space, so I use SL.f to give the elevation boundary. But the tracer is variable in time and constant in space, I cannot use two LIQUID FILE so I use the keywords:

LIQUID BOUNDARIES FILE ='lqd.txt'

FORMATTED DATA FILE 1 ='t2d_tr2.txt'

to represent elevation and TR respectively. And in the TR.f, I have made some modification: replaced the T2DIMP by T2DFO1. And the LITBOR in cli file is set 5. The elevation is ok, but the tracer is zero all the time.

isn't it possible to prescribe tracer values as other columns in the liquid boundary file? like:
Time Q SL TR
without modifying any subroutine?
Any maybe you have to activate also the keyword
PRESCRIBED TRACERS VALUES =0;0;0;1
in the steering file.

Clemens is right.
You could define in the liquid boundary file the Tracer at the boundary.
As far as I remember, for tracers, there is 2 indexes, one for the tracer and one for the boundary number.

Yeah, TR(b,t) with b providing the rank of the boundary and t the number of the tracer. Since my elevation is variable in time and space, so I prescribe tracer values as other columns in the liquid boundary file like:Time ETA(the number of boundary points) TR(b,t), but TR seems not be read when running the model.

In case of SL varying in space and time it seems to me taht you have to add other fortran file (bord?)

I have tried that method. Like the file attacehed below. But it cannot work too. The elevation can be read but the TR seems not be read in the model.The fortran file I used includ SL and TR.

I missed the sentence in your first post ...elevation of boundary is variable in time and space...As Christophe says in that case you have to adapt the bord.f subroutine.

Do I understand correctly, in the liquid boundary file you specify the water elevation node by node? I don't know if this works.

there is on post on this topic where this solution is well described but it needs more change in some fortran file...
