open TELEMAC-MASCARET The mathematically superior suite of solvers

Dear sir/ madam

I am using Telemac 2d (boussinesq equations) to look at nearshore waves coupled with Tomawac. I am using the linear wave growth model. The problems i have is the free surface seems to be off with the wave heights. I have tried various initial conditions (zero elevation etc) to correct the problem.

For example at one location a wave height of 1 m~ has a free surface value of 7 m~

I have looked for a solution in the forums but have not found something similar.

I have also found if i initiate tidal currents with TPXO starting condition and real tides all wave influence on the free surface disappears completely. I have tried various changes (such as ignore linear wave growth and change initial conditions with a different wave model etc)

Attached is the cas, cli, slf and a word showing an example of the results i am getting. Many thanks if anyone has time for an answer.

What is the aim of your study? It looks like you are doing a wave study in a harbor. Why didn't you chose ARTEMIS that additionally accounts for reflection and diffraction?

The suggestion of Costas is worth to consider.
Otherwise, you model can not justify the use of Boussinesq equations. This model is really small and shallow and then the use of shallow water equations is much more recommanded.
The use of Boussinesq can be the origin of an amplification of the waves, these are the dispersion effects.
