Hi,

I want to add a new island in my mesh without regenerating.

Should I change the properties of the nodes(the edge of the new island) with Bluekenue or fortran file?

Thank you in advance!

Best regards

He Jiawei

Hi
In such case, the easiest solution is to create a polygon around the element of this new island and use it with the function "delete elements in polygon".
Then with the new mesh you create a new selafin file...

Hope this helps

Hi He Jiawei,

Remember that you will have to recreate the boundary conditions file once you've editted the mesh.

Cheers... Martin

Hi Martin,

It is a nice reminder.
Although the X and Y vaules of all the unmodified nodes are changeless,all the nodes will be renumbered. Is it right?

With best regards,

Hi c.coulet

Thank you very much!
I tried your suggestion and it worked well.
But if I want to add elements in the Island 1 without regenerating the mesh,what should I do ?

With best regards,

He Jiawei

Hi He Jiawei,

Yes, you can assume that the nodes will be renumbered.

The topic of filling an island hole with elements has been
discussed elsewhere in the Blue Kenue section.

However the steps are as follows:
- select the mesh in the WorkSpace and use
"Tools->T3 Mesh->Extract Edges (Shorelines),
- select and copy the "shoreline" of the hole,
- and paste this shoreline to the "Outline" of a new
Mesh Generator object,
- define your contraints in the usual manner but make
sure that the "Resample Outline" option is turned off,
- once you have created the new "submesh",
- select your original mesh with the hole and use
"Edit->T3 Mesh->Merge Mesh...".

Hope this helps... Martin
