Hi Christophe,

I solved my problem. Assuming that the error came from something misinterprated in the mesh or the boundary files, I just remesh with my old mesh (the one that caused crash) as submesh and the edges as outline.

With that trick, it works.

So, the mesh analyser tool (in BK) didn't see any error nor unexpected internal boundary but something went wrong (numbering? orientation? ...), but Partel did see it.

Anyway, just remeshing at the end of the process can help avoiding some error.

Users, Developpers, what do you use to check the validity of your meshes ?

Maybe this post should be moved to BK section (instead of T2D).

Cheers,
Alexis

Great

Nevertheless, I asked yugi to have a look on your problem with Partel because the geometry file works in sequentiel so this mean the problem is probably more complex...
Running in sequentiel means the geometry file is correct and using the new option "checking the mesh" don't reveal a problem...
So we canno't exclude to have a bug in partel...

Thanks for the information

Regards
Christophe

I experienced the same error, it ran in sequentiel, but not in parallel, and no software I used (BK, SMS) could detect any error in the mesh. Remeshing with the given method by Alexis didn't work for me, probably because my mesh was too large and I had too many internal boundaries; after 60 hours, only 0.28 % of the coverage was done in BK.

So my fix was to delete one node in the mesh, renumber the nodes and elements, and then it worked. Fortunately, I could simply delete a node on the boundary, which will not have an impact on my simulation results.

Still, it's quite a curious error, I am no expert in partel, but noticed the given boundary J in the error changed when I changed the the number of processors.

Kind regards
Frederik

Is this timing for BK 3.12.22 - beta? Please post something in the Blue Kenue section of the forum (with steps to reproduce and an example data file) if you want me to investigate further.

Kindly... Alan
