Hello

I model an estuary and and try to use variable time-steps. The only problem I'm facing is that Telemac does not create a results file as soon as I use a variable time-step.
If I'm using a fixed time-step everything runs fine and I get a results file.
What can I change that it will create a results file with variable-time step? I have set the desired courant number =2.

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

Is it possible to post your input files such as CAS, serafin and BC file as well fortran file?

What is the log file saying while the computation done? is there any message to post here?

Yes of course.

The message is the following.
|runCode: Fail to run

As soon as I comment out the variable timestep everything is running fine.

Hi
Before going further, could you check the varaible time step works on sequential mode.
Otherwise, thinking about the way telemac manage parallel computation and variable time step, I'm not sure it's possible to use the variable time step in parallel...
The variable time step is computed according to the courant number of the model and as the model is decomposed in various subdomain, I Wonder if there is an harmonization of the time step computed by each subdomain...

Christophe

Try to print all time step in the listing

Sorry that it took me so long still try to fix my boundaries.

Attached you will find the whole model and the printout.

Best

Edit: I can not attach the printout since the file is to large for the forum.

These are the last lines I always get

Hi Clements,

It's because your simulation is at time 90607.9526 S and you only provide a boundary condition until 90600s. Just add an extra line with to the boundary condition file.

Hi Patrick,

I will try. Just a question. How could you the time the model runs, since I set the the DURATION = 90600s so it should not running longer than that.

Clemens

Hi Clemens,

It's because of the variable timestep. 90597s is the previous time which is shorter then 90600s and then telemac takes an other step to 90607s.
