HELLO,

In this topic i want to understand how the concentration of TRACER value is calculated. From others topics, i understood that the real concentration of the Tracer = Value of tracer * Discharge * Depth. So if we have the discharge and the depth we can deduce the value of TRACER in able to have in the simulation the correct value of concentration.

But, for example in my project i want to test this method to model the dispersion of sediment. So in my case i don't have a water dicharge in the source point. How can i have the correct quantity of TRACER without Discharge of water, is there any soubroutine wich i can try to modify. At last, is it correct to avoid the discharge water for this methodology.

I have read the manuel and other topics but it still don't abvious for me.

Best regards.

Hello

The real concentration of tracer is not computed like you mentioned.
A source point means that there is a discharge of water at a node (or a small area), this water is mixed with a tracer. If there is no discharge, this could not be represented as a source point.

with my kind regards

Hello RIADH,

Thank you for your reply.

Yes i had checked the difsou.f subroutine, wich JONATHAN suggest me . Like what i said to JONATHAN, from this subroutine i understood the calcul of mass of sediment released for each time step in the point source.

For the discharge i had use the FLOWRATE SCALLAR multiplied with depth. Hope it's not a mistake. i have done this seen that the discharge in the reality has 0 value.

The simulation run and the propagation of the tracer seems correct. Finaly, am i right to think that the concentration wich is represented at the result (in kg/m3) correspond to the dilution of the quantity mass tracer (kg) calculated in the difsou.f, or this is more complicate?

Thank you in advance.
BEST REAGRDS.
