Hello,

I'm launching a simulation with TELEMAC-2D - TOMAWAC coupling.

The aim is to have the currents generated by waves.

In order to do this, I imposed the same boundary conditions (open boundary with prescribed H except for the coastline, where the boundary is closed) both in TOMAWAC and in TELEMAC2D.

In the steering file I wrote PRESCRIBED VELOCITIES = 0.0 as keyword.

First I noticed that the simulation lasted too much, so I added some keywords after reading some topics in the forum (OPTION FOR LIQUID BOUNDARIES = 2, MATRIX STORAGE = 3, TREATMENT OF THE LINEAR SYSTEM = 2, SOLVER = 1, FREE SURFACE GRADIENT, COMPATIBILITY = 0.9, SOLVER ACCURACY : 1.E-3)

I made some attempts, but I don't think I got good results.

Might anybody tell me the right way do launch this kind of simulation?

I'm attaching the BC file and the steering files.

Thanks a lot

Hello,
If you are looking into wave-driven currents, I would recommend reducing the timestep to around 1s and set COUPLING PERIOD FOR TOMAWAC = 1. 10s is too much for proper wave breaking resolution. You can then increase timestep and coupling period for as long as your results remain satisfactory.

Costas

Thanks. In this case the simulation is very very long again :(
