Hello to all
I am modeling the tide in the Persian Gulf in Khoremusa area.
Why are the results of prediction free surface from the Tpxo database with the measurement values of the Garmin database different for my area, while for the other area near the studied area, the results are quite consistent.???
regards

I don't know this particular area but what sounds strange is the amplification of tide which could be seen between the 2 graphs.
2m for bushehr to 5m to khoremusa...
If I'm not wrong the 2 sites are not so far so it's difficult to imagine such amplification phenomenon.
The telemac results sounds to give the same interpretation...

Dear c.coulet thanks for your reply
My question is why are the results different for the two regions? Is it possible the Tpxo data that applied as input to the model is incorrect?
What should I do to solve this problem?
In the following, image area and the comparison of the results of the model and the measurement and Tpxo are attached
Thanks so much

Hi
For sure, there could be a problem with TPXO data particularly if you model is too local and in an area where the TPXO coverage is poor...
Could we have an idea of the outline of the model you run, in both case?
If this is the case, one solution could be to enlarge your model in the persian gulf.
Another option more used in the past, for such local studies when the computation capacities was rather limited.
The method was to build a quite large model with not a too high resolution to have a limited number of node. Run this model first, and extract the boundary condition for the local fine mesh...

thanks for your guide
How is the model introduced after the extraction of the boundary conditions from the large general model?

Different possibilities exists which needs a bit of fortran knowledge.
The main idea is:
For each node of the local model liquid boundary, you extract the time series of free surface and velocities from the large model and you use those time series as imposed values...
Nevertheless, with the unstructured mesh, you could also try to enlarge your domain with larger mesh size. This will not necessarily generate a high number of node and elements

What is the input file of boundary conditions, in what format and structure is introduced to the case file? What kind of switch should I activate in the case?
Can I use case file of examples?
Thanks alot
