open TELEMAC-MASCARET The mathematically superior suite of solvers

Hello all,

It's my first run using Telemac2d. I simulate a rectangular channel with unsteady sinusoidal discharge upstream and a rating curve of depth and discharge downstream(also tried a free outlet downstream and get the same results). The results were illogic.
Can anyone help me to determine the issue?
I attached all files in txt format.
The run attached is only for 120 seconds to show the issue.

I can't run the example, but I noticed that you change your discharge from 1.1 m3/s to 2.1 m3/s in 25 seconds. Given the dimensions of your channel 0,6m wide and initial depth of 0,1m that is a lot! Also your rating curve is set for way deeper water than your initial conditions. I would advice to make an initial condition with steady flow conditions before starting unsteady flow.

Thank you for your response.
I decreased the slope to 2m/km and made some refinements as advised:
- used a fixed flow rate of 0.3 m3/s (the same as the prescribed flow rate and consistent with the prescribed elevation)
- I modified the rating cure around the initial condition.
but it didn't work too .

Thank you Patrick, I ran the simulation in a steady state achieved my initial condition then ran the unsteady simulation. It worked :)
