estu_gir is an old example which was removed a few years ago.
To my knowledge, only the files to run the example were available and no associated documentation was written.

You have $HOMETEL/telemac2d/riv_art example (artificial river which reproduces an experiment).
Have a look at this example + TELEMAC-2D validation manual.
