Solute Transport Simulation

Hi!!
I'm running a test case for solute transport in a river with a different friction coefficient on the banks. I try different values of discharge and different initial conditions (constant depth). In the case of low discharge and high initial water depth (low values of velocity in the computation field) I have a lot of problems with the convergence of the diffusion-propagation step. In particular, it seems that there is an oscillating number of iterations. I thought was a problem of the the choosen solver, but different options for the solver did not give me appreciable improvements.
I tried to launch the simulation from a previous computation file but the oscillating behavior still remains. I'm interested in a stationary solution, so my aim is to decrease the number of timesteps needed to reach the stationary state.
Can you give me an advice?
Thanks!
Tom

Hello,
Well this is strange, but sometimes (bridge piers) there is no stationary solution, only von Karman eddies. So you should look into your results to see if something really moves somewhere, or if there is a singular point (tidal flats ?) that makes a problem.
With best regards,
