Unable to run tutorials with Fortran sources 14 years 9 months ago #27

Hello,
I was trying to execute Cavity test case. Run was not successful because it didn't pass the linking phase (compilation was a success). I manage to run examples that do not contain FORTRAN sources. Output is attached in the message. I presume that some settings should be modified in order to use "link" (Perl cannot find it). Is there a quick solution to this?

Dear sstuparus
The problem doesn't come from Telemac.
In your installation, the fortran compiler is well install but the linker not.
When you open a command windows, if you type link, the command is unknown.
This command is often available with Visual Studio (Express or higher version) but it seems that in your case, the path was not updated when you installed this software.
You should have a look on your compiler installation manual to see how to run a compilation and a link in a command windows

Dear sstuparus

If you did not install the Intel Compiler yourself, there is a good chance that your PATH is not entirely complete.

A solution around this is to simply launch TELEMAC from a DOS command windows opened from the Intel Compiler Menus - here it goes for a standard install:

(Start) > Programs > Intel Software Development Tools > Intel Fortran Compiler > Fortran Build ... 32bit

Note that this will allow you to run both 32bit and 64bit version in the future. You can also create a shortcut on your desktop.

Best regards,
Sébastien.

My IDE was set right, I can compile any C/C++, C# or FORTRAN project from Visual Studio.

Sebastien was right, it needed to run through Interl Compiler Environment Console. I set my editor to run earlier version of TELEMAC for Compaq Fortran Compiler (it was without a problem but that compiler also has a linker). Seems that I'll need to update my toolchain :)

Best regards,
Sstuparus Tui
